US Ambassador to Cyprus Judith Garber expressed her optimism that relations with Cyprus would continue to develop and flourish in an Easter video message she shared on Saturday.

This spring, “as people across the world celebrate renewal and rebirth, Easter’s message of hope is particularly important.”

Wishing everyone in Cyprus happy holidays, she noted that it was a difficult year for everyone, particularly for people who were ill or lost a loved one.

Despite the challenges, it was a year of gratitude, expressing her thanks for all front line workers that fight daily against Covid-19.

“A little after a year since the first covid case in Cyprus, we are moving into a very hopeful period,” Garber said, as vaccines as rolling out.

“The results of our cooperation have reaped many vaccines in record time.”

“This gives us hope that soon we will be able to enjoy things that we used to take for granted – travel, meals in restaurants, celebrations with the entire family, with our grandfathers and cousins.”

“In this spirit of hope, I wish you a happy Easter and a healthy year,” the ambassador said.
