He served as deputy minster under the president for Clerides two terms, from 1993 to 2003.
In a Twitter post on Sunday, President Nicos Anastasiades expressed his condolences to Kouros’ family.
In the post, he said his beloved friend and collaborator Pantelis Kouros was a man with a rare ethos, a rationalist, with genuine courtesy.

Disy leader Averof Neophytou described himself as Kouros’ political son. “I admired your calm power,” he wrote on Twitter.
Kouros’ funeral will be held on Tuesday at the Constantinos and Eleni church in Pallouriotissa. Instead of wreathes the family has asked for donations to Pasykaf and the Anticancer Society.
