We have become accustomed to roaming drone shots which, in a different age, would have been the exclusive domain of military cameras and Hollywood movies.

Yet despite such shots’ proliferation in today’s digital filmmaking and drone-deploying era, there’s still something magical about seeing a familiar landscape from high above.

Here, local videographer and wedding photographer George Avgousti turns his aerial camera onto the clear and inviting waters of Latchi Beach, arching around the Harbour and following the homes built along the sweep of the coastline, all the way to the Baths of Aphrodite.

The result is a seascape of perfect miniatures, crisply reproduced in 4K, against an unfolding tapestry of Mediterranean blue.
