Police warn of increased traffic, more patrols on Monday
Police warned motorists on Monday there would be increased patrols in the afternoon with the expected return of people to urban areas after the long weekend.
Increased traffic is expected on main roads and highways later in the afternoon, they said.
As part of their measures, patrols will be out in force to regulate traffic and to provide assistance where needed, police said in a statement.
In addition to monitoring traffic flows, checks for violations would also be ongoing.
“As part of the measures taken for road safety, police appeal once again to drivers to be especially careful, to observe the traffic code and to comply with the traffic signs and the instructions of the police officers on duty,” it said.
