A six-year-old died on Wednesday morning following a surgery at a private clinic in Nicosia, a source close to the matter confirmed.

The surgery reportedly took place on Tuesday and was linked to heart problems faced by the child.

Forensic pathologist Marios Matsakis told the Cyprus Mail that he has been appointed by the family to carry out an autopsy.
