The Met service has issued a warning for gale force winds on Wednesday, which are expected to affect the eastern part of the island.

The warning concerns the hours between 9am and 4pm.

The service said near gale to gale north to north-easterly winds (force six to seven) are expected to affect windward areas in the eastern part of the island.

Wind gusts may reach force eight, the service said.
