A man was fatally stabbed late Monday night following an altercation in Engomi, police confirmed.

Local media reported that the incident took place around 10pm, in front of a kiosk by Zorbas bakery in the Parissinos area of Engomi.

Reports said two men got into an altercation that turned physical, with the victim eventually being stabbed in the back and falling to the ground.

An ambulance was called to the scene along with police.

Nicosia CID are investigating the case, but a spokesman confirmed that the victim has passed away.

No other details were immediately available.
