The Paphos bicycle police patrols issued 97 fines for the month of January while also assisting the public when and where necessary, according to an announcement on Thursday.
Paphos assistant police chief Michalis Ioannou added that there were 75 instances of checking suspicious persons or vehicles, and 31 cases where the personnel assisted other departments.
During their patrols, the units also assisted tourists and offered advice to shopkeepers and other businesses owners to prevent burglaries.
Ioannou said that the patrols also helped carry out checks in Chlorakas and Geroskipou where and when asked to do so, while carrying out other duties at protests and at the law courts.
