The health ministry on Monday announced that people who were Covid-positive and self-isolating can now be released earlier than the mandated ten days provided they have a negative rapid test and have no symptoms.

The change is that people can been released on the same day as the test after receiving their results via text message, after which they can proceed to download their digital certificate.

Those who are positive for the virus will be informed on the sixth day of self-isolation via text message, about the predetermined point and the time they should arrive for a rapid test on the seventh to 10th day.

The date of diagnosis is considered as day zero so people should start counting from the day after.

Only tests performed at health ministry predetermined points are recognised as valid for release purposes before the 10th day.

Those who do not follow the above procedure will be able to be released automatically based on the current procedures, meaning the 11th day.

During release testing, the same identification information that was declared when registering on the platform as positive should be stated to avoid technical problems and delays in release.

Social distancing and protection – either a double surgical mask, or a ΚΝ95 or FFP2 – must be observed at the testing.
