Nicosia is a hub of art and culture, according to an EU commissioner who visited Nicosia who was taken on a tour of the capital’s museums and tech programmes.

EU commissioner for innovation, research, culture, education and youth Mariya Gabriel visited Nicosia on Thursday, where she met Nicosia mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis.

He took her to the sites such as the CVar art museum and the Cyens building which aims to incubate tech startups. She was also taken on a tour along the green line.

On Friday, she met Education Minister Prodromos Prodromou where they discussed the “shared common ambitions to make EU digital education the strategy for universities.”
