Police in Larnaca arrested a 30-year-old man wanted by Moldovan authorities, based on an international warrant.

The 30-year-old has reportedly been sentenced to 16 years in prison by the Moldovan authorities for the trafficking and pimping of minors.

An international warrant was issued for his arrest and extradition by the Moldovan authorities.

According to the police report, shortly after 3.30 in the early hours of Friday, the 30-year-old arrived on a flight from abroad to Larnaca airport, where it was found by members of the Police that he was wanted by the country’s authorities.

The man was subsequently issued with a temporary arrest warrant by the Cypriot authorities and was arrested by local police.

The man was brought before a judge at Larnaca District Court for the start of the extradition process to the Moldovan authorities.

The Court ordered that he must remain in custody until June 5, when the trial will continue.
