A 38-year-old man is under arrest as police investigate a case of assault and causing bodily harm, dangerous and reckless driving, causing malicious damage, obstructing a police officer and other traffic offences.

The alleged offences occurred in Polis Chrysochous on June 5, police said on Thursday. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday.

Officer from the Polis Chrysochous police station had on June 5 gone to arrest the 38-year-old man for causing real bodily harm to another person.

When police arrived, the man made a getaway, jumping into his vehicle and driving dangerously and recklessly, crashing into the front of the police vehicle and causing some damage before managing to escape.
