A 30-year-old Famagusta resident who allegedly attacked and wounded his flat mate with a cleaver was arrested by police late on Friday night after being on the run.
The incident was reported to the police at 3:30am on Friday after the victim, a 22-year-old, entered his house but was attacked by the suspect. The younger man suffered a deep wound to his right hand and was taken by ambulance to Famagusta hospital. He was discharged from hospital after receiving stitches.
The 30-year-old suspect fled the scene but police but officers encountered the suspect in Famagusta around 10pm on Friday and arrested him based on a court warrant.
