Afternoon outpatient clinics will start operations as of Monday, following an agreement reached between the State Health Services Organisation (Okypy) and the doctors’ and nurses’ unions on July 11.
All specialities will be available in the afternoon, but not different ones on different days.
Spokesperson for Okypy Charalambos Charilaou said most doctors had shown an interest in working also in the afternoon.
He said the aim of Okypy is to increase the accessibility of public hospitals and for more people to use the outpatients departments.
The public can book appointments in two different ways.
The first option is to make a via internet through the organisation’s website: https://shso.org.cy/en/health-centre/ and within 48 hours an operator will contact them to determine time and day. The second option is via phones at 22 212800.
The afternoon outpatient clinics will operate daily from 3:30 to 6:30 pm.
