The UN development programme has announced that the submission deadline for the European Union funded ‘Video and Drawing’ competition for children and youth has been extended until 19 September 2022.
The competition encourages children and youth to engage with the cultural heritage of Cyprus and is focused on sites on the island, some of which have been restored by the UN Cultural Heritage committee.
An exhibition and two workshops will be held at the end of the competition aiming to bring youth together through the medium of visual storytelling. During the workshops, which will take place at the Home for Cooperation, participants will be guided to co-‐create drawings and videos.
According to the press release, the committee aims to engage two groups of up to 20 children/youth comprised of equal numbers of Turkish and Greek Cypriot participants in the competition. Those who did not participate are also invited to attend, depending on availability.
This action is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP in coordination with OSASG in Cyprus.
