President Nikos Christodoulides is set to land in Paris on Tuesday evening ahead of a working lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.
Christodoulides, accompanied by his wife Philippa Karsera, will then fly from Paris to London on Thursday to attend King Charles’ coronation on Saturday.
According to the president’s office, Christodoulides will meet Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris at 2pm on Wednesday.
The two will have lunch before making statements to the media in the early afternoon.
Among the topics that will be discussed during the meeting are the Cyprus problem and Christodoulides’ proposal for a greater involvement for the EU in Cyprus affairs, specifically aimed at breaking the deadlock and resume negotiations to achieve a solution.
The two will also discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine and the flow of migrants in the Eastern Mediterranean area.
In the evening, the president will attend a dinner with members of the Cypriot community in Paris.
On Thursday, before departing for London, Christodoulides will also meet with representatives of French oil giant Total, currently involved in drilling activities in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
