Sunday’s weather will initially be partly cloudy, with showers and even thunderstorms developing in isolated areas throughout the course of the day.

The storms rain will hit the west coast first, gradually progressing eastwards across the island.

Temperatures will rise to a maximum of 22 degrees Celsius inland and on the western and northern coasts, 23 degrees Celsius on the eastern and southern coasts, and 11 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.

Strong winds are expected, up to seven Beaufort in the early part of the day and eight Beaufort later. The sea is expected to be rough.

Overnight, clouds are expected to form with rain forecast in the western half of the island, with possible snowfall in the mountains.

Temperatures will drop to 11 degrees inland, 13 degrees in coastal areas, and a low of two degrees in the mountains.

Monday morning in the mountains is therefore expected to begin with frost and possible further snowfall.

Temperatures are expected to drop on Monday across the island, with strong winds set to continue, before clearer weather arrives on Tuesday and Wednesday.
