The death of a British national in the north is being treated as a suspected murder, the Turkish Cypriot police said on Friday.

57-year-old Andrew Cullen was found dead at his home in Ayios Epiktitos at around 10am on Friday.

According to newspaper Yeni Duzen, Cullen was found with a laceration on his throat.

The Turkish Cypriot police have launched an investigation into the matter, with a full statement expected in due course.
