The Famagusta district court on Monday remanded three teenagers, aged 17,18 and 19, for five days after they were arrested on Sunday in connection with a case that saw a 17-year-old boy beaten by a group of people in Paralimni.

They are being accused of causing grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The victim, a Nicosia resident, was found at around 2am after officers were notified of a fight on Pernera avenue. He was taken to Famagusta general hospital.

Medical examination revealed the teenager had sustained a fractured jaw and rib injuries. Later on Sunday, he was transferred to Nicosia general hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Following the investigation, the three suspects were arrested on Sunday under court-issued warrants. The Famagusta CID is continuing its investigation.
