A 25-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a punch-up in Larnaca, which sent three to hospital, one of whom is intubated and in critical condition.

Police obtained a testimony against the 25-year-old asylum applicant, who was arrested just before 2pm.

The man, facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, grievous bodily harm and actions aiming at causing grievous bodily harm, is expected to be taken before a court on Thursday for a remand order.

Police are searching for other people involved in the brawl, which has been attributed to professional differences.

At 3.30am the police were notified that three people had been taken to Larnaca general hospital in private cars.

A 30-year-old was then taken to Nicosia general hospital and intubated in critical condition while two others, aged 21 and 28, were wounded and admitted to Larnaca hospital for treatment.

The 30-year-old was transported to Nicosia with intraperitoneal bleeding, left hemisphere subdural hematoma and a fracture of the zygomatic lateral arch.

Investigations indicated that two hours earlier there had been a brawl in Kalogreon street in Larnaca, during which three people were injured.

Larnaca police are continuing investigations.
