A 34-year-old man who was wanted in Germany in connection with a case related to computer fraud was arrested in Paphos, the town’s police’s assistant operations director Michalis Nikolaou said on Thursday.
He said the man was arrested in Paphos at around 7pm on Wednesday pursuant to a European arrest warrant which had been issued by the German authorities.
He appeared in court on Thursday, with Nikolaou confirming after the hearing that the court had ordered that he be released on a €5,000 bail, but that as he did not fulfil the conditions required to be released, he remains in custody.
His first extradition hearing is set to take place on October 31.
