The upgrade of the Cyprus economy’s rating by Moody’s on Saturday is a self-evident vote of confidence in the practices applied by the government, government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said on Sunday.
“The new positive rating by Moody’s, the double upgrade of our country, for the first time after 13 years to grade A by this rating agency is a practical, self-evident vote of confidence in the Cypriot economy, in the policies implemented by the government and, above all, in the collective efforts of the Cypriot people,” he said.
We will continue to walk responsibly on this path, he added “with a vision for our country, that we want to see progress”.
He said the focus of the government will remain the people of Cyprus, young people and small businesses.
“We are confident that this double upgrade is the beginning of many other positive developments in the coming period, especially in terms of attracting quality investments, because these upgrades are the first self-evident step so that our country can once again become an attractive destination for quality investments that will open new jobs that will lead even further to the progress and prosperity of our people,” he added.
