A Limassol man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from two buildings under construction, police said on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night by members of the crime prevention unit.

The first case against him involved theft from a storeroom of an under-construction apartment building between October 7 and 8, from which building tools were taken.

The second refers to a break-in between October 8 and 19 during which items including copper pipes and a chandelier were stolen.

As a result, the police called on contractors and owners to make sure property on building sites is properly secured.
