EnErgo movement announced its intention on Monday to file a lawsuit against the Republic of Cyprus regarding its failed housing, food and decent living policies.

The movement said it sent a letter to the president on Monday, informing him of its decision.

“For months now we have been sounding the alarm regarding these social issues, without any response from the deputy welfare ministry, which does not seem to understand the magnitude of the problem and the necessity to find immediate solutions,” EnErgo said.

It predicted that soon “we will see a rapid increase of homeless people” and other related issues.

EnErgo pointed out that fundamental articles of the Constitution were being violated, such as decent living, social security and the effective implementation of human rights.
