The poor road network of Paphos is preventing the city from living up to its full potential, Paphos Disy MP Charalambos Pazaros said on Tuesday.

Speaking in the House on the second day of budget negotiations, Pazaros blamed the poor road network for holding back development and progress, specifically mentioning the termination of the contract for the Paphos-Polis road project.

“Valuable time has already been lost and citizens’ trust in institutions has also been damaged and Disy will intervene if the state does not keep its promises for new offers,” Pazaros stated.

“Other than that, the lack of a flexible medium-term and long-term plan for the sustainability of the primary sector is troubling and the measures for irrigation and water supply projects are insufficient and lead to a decrease in production and product shortages.”
