A fire on Tuesday morning caused damage to a bakery in Athienou.

Fire Department spokesman Andreas Kettis said the fire started at around 8.30am in a gas oven and three fire engines were sent to put it out.

Fire fighters turned off the gas supply and wore masks while extinguishing the fire.

The workers left the building in time and no one was in danger.
