January 2025 is the second worst regarding rainfall for the month, the Meteorological Department said on Monday.

On Monday morning, rainfall for the month had just touched 17 per cent.

The dryest January was recorded in 1997, with 12mm of rain, compared to this January with 17mm so far.

However, things are not expected to change, as the weather forecast till January 30 does not include rain.
