Greek airline Aegean this week announced the launch of its Aircraft Engineer Training Scholarship Programme, providing young individuals with the opportunity to train for a career in civil aviation.
Accorrding to the announcement, the initiative aims to support youth employment in Greece and fill vital aviation roles as the airline celebrates 25 years of operation.
The programme, which began for pilots in 2018 and for engineers in 2022, offers a unique pathway to education and immediate employment in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries.
It also mentioned that the training, in collaboration with the well-known Olympic Air Maintenance Training Organisation, will begin on April 28, 2025.
Open to 20 participants, the 24-month programme combines theoretical lessons with practical, on-the-job training at Aegean’s new Technical Base, leading to the B1.1 Category Aircraft Maintenance License (Part-66).
The scholarship will cover 50 per cent of tuition fees, with top performers receiving further funding for 100 per cent, 75 per cent, or 50 per cent of their fees, depending on academic results.
Graduates will also have access to direct employment opportunities at Aegean Technics, starting their career path once they obtain their licenses.
Applications are open until February 21, 2025, with interested candidates invited to apply via Aegean’s website.
