A vehicle fire in Paphos district overnight was alleged to have been caused by the owner’s lit cigarette.
According to the police, the fire broke out at 9.30pm on Sunday in a car parked on a street in Chlorakas.
The fire service extinguished the fire which caused damages to the interior of the vehicle.
The 36-year-old owner of the vehicle told the police the fire had been caused by a cigarette he had been smoking that fell on the driver’s seat.
Police cordoned off the scene and investigations are ongoing.
