A 34-year-old man was remanded in custody for four days on Friday by the Larnaca court on suspicion of theft.

Police charged him with theft, possession of burglary tools, and illegal possession of stolen property.

The man was stopped by police around 2 a.m. on Friday in Oroklini, where officers discovered electric wires, a vehicle battery, and burglary tools in his car.

“The 34-year-old failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the items in his possession, leading to his arrest,” Larnaca police spokesperson Christodoulos Konsolos said.

He was brought before the Larnaca court later that day, where the judge ordered his four-day remand.
