The maximum resale price of drinking water will be set at €0.60 per 0.5-litre bottle until the end of 2025, Energy Minister George Papanastasiou announced on Friday.

This legally binding price cap applies to bottled water sold at airports, beaches, museums, archaeological sites, hospitals, zoos and theatres.

According to the latest information, the price cap will not apply to water sold in supermarkets and kiosks. Additionally, while the limit will generally apply to sports venues, exceptions will be made for certain matches and events.

The ministry said that the measure aims to protect “consumers’ economic interests, especially during times of financial hardship.”
