A second is in police custody on Wednesday for an investigated case of robbery and assault committed in Limassol on Christmas Eve.

Police on Tuesday arrested the 29-year-old man who will be brought before the Limassol District Court to be remanded.

The case concerned the theft of €100,000 which a 32-year-old complainant had reported to the police in December. According to the victim’s complaint he had arranged to meet with with two individuals to buy cryptocurrency.

The two men got into the victim’s car and one hit him on the head while the second took the bag containing the money and fled.

The victim was able to restrain the second man until police arrived and was subsequently arrested.
