Traffic came to a standstill on the Limassol to Nicosia highway in both directions on Thursday morning, following two separate accidents near the Linopetra exit.
The first accident involved a four-car pile-up in the Nicosia-bound lane, with at least one person sustaining minor injuries. The injured individual was taken to hospital for treatment. Police were at the scene, managing the removal of the vehicles and working to restore the flow of traffic.
A second accident occurred at the same location in the opposite direction, causing only material damage. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
By mid-morning, traffic congestion had eased, and the highway was fully reopened. Motorists are urged to drive with caution, as investigations continue into the causes of the crashes.
