An easyJet plane made an emergency landing at Larnaca airport on Thursday night after a passenger felt unwell.

The company apologised to the other passengers and flight EZY2252 diverted to Larnaca.

The flight to Manchester, UK, scheduled to depart at 8.55pm from Hurghada, Egypt, was delayed till 9.21pm on Thursday.

Two hours into its flight, a passenger fell ill and the plane landed at Larnaca at 11.45pm on Thursday.

According to FlightAware, cited by Reporter, the flight took off again at 1.05am on Friday and landed in Manchester at 3.24am.

An easyJet spokesman confirmed that the flight had been diverted due to a passenger in need of medical assistance.

The passenger was handed over to medical services in Cyprus and the plane departed for its destination.

“The security and wellbeing of the passengers and crew remains a top priority for the company,” the spokesman said.
