A garden worker was seriously injured on Thursday afternoon while working for a company that carries out earth and construction works in a labour accident in the Coral Bay area.

Police said at 3.15pm while the 37-year-old employee from Syria was cleaning a crusher at a construction site in Coral Bay area, he was trapped in the machine.

With the help of other workers and the ambulance crew, he was rescued and transferred to Paphos General Hospital A&E.

There doctors diagnosed a fracture of the right arm, a fracture of his right arm and a wound to the eyebrow.

The 37-year-old was kept in and his condition described as serious but out of danger.
