The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) will allocate €390 million for cybersecurity projects under the Digital Europe Programme for the 2025-2027 period, it emerged on Sunday.

In a statement, the centre outlined its investment priorities, ranging from new cybersecurity technologies including artificial intelligence and post-quantum transition, as well as initiatives aimed at strengthening EU cyber resilience and supporting SMEs.

The ECCC aims to pool investments in cybersecurity research, technology, and industrial development while ensuring the effective implementation of projects in coordination with the Network of National Coordination Centres.

It is also expected to contribute to the creation of the European Cybersecurity Alert System, as foreseen in the Cyber Solidarity Act, to enhance coordinated detection and shared situational awareness capabilities at the European level.

ECCC Executive Director Luca Tagliaretti described the first Cybersecurity Work Programme as a “key milestone” in establishing the Centre as a major player in the EU’s cybersecurity landscape.
