Two people were arrested on Thursday evening during police checks ahead of a crunch basketball match between Anorthosis and Apoel, police said on Friday.

Both arrestees were found to be in possession of “a small amount” of drugs, while one of the pair had a folding bat on his person.

They were released to be summoned at a later date. The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
