Two people were arrested late Sunday afternoon in what police said was a murder case after a man’s dead body was found outside an apartment building in the Neapolis area of Limassol.
The body of 45-year-old Yiannis Argyrou was found with more than 10 stab wounds at about 9.35 on Sunday morning.
During police inquiries, two people were named as being linked to the crime which led to the arrest of a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman.
Argyrou was found in a closed garage of the apartment block in which he lived by his mother, who had gone looking for him after failing to make contact with him since Saturday night.

When police arrived at the scene they established Argyrou had wounds to many parts of the body including his neck.
An autopsy carried out by state pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodox Orthodoxou concluded the wounds were caused by a sharp cutting instrument.
The two suspects are expected to be taken to Limassol court on Monday morning for a remand order to be issued against them.
Speaking at the scene, Limassol CID chief Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed the death was the result of criminal activity.
He confirmed that the 45-year-old was known to the authorities and lived in the block, owned by his family.
