A fire broke out in an area where rabbits and chickens were being housed on Thursday evening, with the police investigating the matter on Friday.

The fire broke out in the village of Evrychou, in the northern foothills of the Troodos mountains, with the fire brigade being called to the scene at around 8.30pm on Thursday.

A toolshed was also damaged in the fire, with the fire brigade saying the entire area was “completely destroyed”.
