President Nikos Christodoulides will meet on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in London.
Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said Christodoulides, who is in London for a repatriation campaign to entice experts in various fields back to the island, will meet with Starmer at 7.30pm [local time].
The two leaders will discuss issues related to Cyprus-UK relations and EU-UK ties in view of the upcoming Cyprus EU Presidency.
They will also discuss regional and international developments and Christodoulides will brief the British PM on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and the appointment of Johannes Hahn as the European Union Special Envoy, as well as on his upcoming meeting with the UNSG Personal Envoy Maria Angela Holguin.
This is the third between the Christodoulides and Starmer since the latter took office in July 2024, “a fact that demonstrates the excellent level of bilateral relations between Cyprus and the United Kingdom,” Letymbiotis said.
“The meeting follows the historic visit Starmer paid to Cyprus in December 2024, the first by a British prime minister to Cyprus after 53 years,” he said.
