Police on Thursday are investigating a 65-year-old man who handed himself in after admitting to stabbing a 50-year-old man.
He was arrested on suspicion of acts intended to cause actual bodily harm.
The incident allegedly occurred shortly after 9pm on Wednesday at the 65-year-old’s house, with the 50-year-old having paid him a visit.
The 65-year-old told the police that the 50-year-old had in fact threatened him with a knife, and that he retaliated.
Shortly after the incident, at around 9.20pm, he called the police.
When the police arrived, they found that the 50-year-old had sustained injuries to his head and to his left arm.
He was taken to the Famagusta general hospital in Paralimni, where his wounds were stitched up and he was then discharged.
The 65-year-old was then arrested, with the police’s investigation into the matter ongoing.
He was remanded in custody for three days on Thursday.
