A low-powered bomb exploded outside the home of a 70-year-old man in Limassol in the early hours of Tuesday, causing property damage but no injuries.

The explosion occurred at around 2:10am in the Havouza area, according to police. The blast shattered a glass balcony door, damaged parts of the house interior and left two vehicles parked nearby with visible damage.

A bomb squad examined the scene and confirmed that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. The device had been placed on the steps of the house, near a boundary wall.

The Limassol criminal investigation department (CID) is leading the investigation. No arrests have been made so far, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
