A Swiss couple who have spent their holidays in Paralimni–Deryneia for four decades have been honoured as tourism ambassadors by the local municipality.

In an official ceremony, mayor George Nicolettos presented Jeanette and Marko Dalcolmo with the honorary title in recognition of their long-standing loyalty to the area. According to a statement from the municipality, the couple has visited the region every year for 40 years.

During the event, the couple expressed their deep affection for Paralimni–Deryneia and their satisfaction with the improvements made to the area. They praised recent upgrades to services and the overall image of the municipality, saying these changes had enhanced the experience for both locals and tourists.

Mayor Nicolettos thanked the couple for their continued support and described them as “the best ambassadors abroad” for the region. He added that the municipality’s goal is to keep improving its services and appearance, aiming to position Paralimni–Deryneia among Europe’s most attractive travel destinations.
