A man accused of stabbing two women at a pharmacy in Chlorakas was remanded in custody on Wednesday for two days as police continue their investigation into a case of attempted murder.
The 35-year-old resident of Limassol appeared before Paphos district court, which issued the detention order.
He is suspected of storming into the pharmacy on April 14 and attacking the 33-year-old owner and her 24-year-old employee with a knife.
According to police, the motive behind the attack was a personal dispute between the suspect and the pharmacist.
The incident left both women with stab wounds to various parts of their bodies.
They were taken to Paphos general hospital and treated for their injuries.
The suspect handed himself in to police shortly after the incident.
He was then admitted to Athalassa psychiatric hospital in Nicosia.
After being discharged, he was re-arrested and brought before the court.
Investigators are examining possible charges of attempted murder, unlawful entry and causing grievous bodily harm.
