A 24-year-old British man was rescued from the Ayia Napa sea caves on Friday afternoon after sustaining an injury that left him unable to climb to safety.

“The person was injured and was unable to climb to a safe place,” fire department spokesperson Andreas Kettis said in a post on X.

Authorities responded swiftly to the scene, assisting the man from the rocky coastal area with a ladder.

He was taken to the Famagusta general hospital for treatment.
