Power will be cut in various areas in Paphos on Saturday due to maintenance works, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) said on Thursday.
Power supply will be cut off from 5am to 11am in the following areas and locales: Ayia Marinouda, the eastern part of Konia, the southern and western parts of Ahelia, the eastern part of Koloni, the northeastern and southeastern parts of Geroskipou, in Ayia Varvara, the northern and northeastern part of Timi, and the northern and western part of Anarita village.
The other affected locations are: Nata, Holetra, Stavrokonnou, Kelokedara, Ayia Marina Kalokedaron, Amargeti, Axylou, Eledio, Pentalia, Kilinia, Galataria, Statos, Ayios Fotios, Ambelitis, Vretsia, Panayia, Falia, and the southeastern part of Lemona.
In a statement, the EAC cautioned the public that, whereas the power cuts may not last for the entire duration indicated, people should nevertheless assume that their premises are under electrical voltage – live – throughout.
The EAC said the power cuts are necessary due to the carrying out of maintenance at a high-voltage electricity substation in Paphos.
