There may be one airlift today and several tomorrow carrying Cypriot patients and their escorts from Israel to the island, Health Minister Michalis Damianos said on Monday.
According to Damianos, there are 10 Cypriot patients and 13 escorts in Israel. “Some procedures are being carried out today so that some patients and escorts can return,” he said.
But, Damianos said, “all of this will depend on the situation in Israel and whether it will be possible for airlifts to leave for Cyprus.”
When asked how many people can be transported on each flight, the minister said that it depends on the type of aircraft.
“There is one patient and four escorts to be airlifted out today, depending on whether the flight can leave,” he said.
