A food preparation shop caught fire in Engomi in the early hours of Wednesday, causing damage to its wooden cladding and walls.

“At 6.16am, the Nicosia fire stations responded with two staffed fire engines to a fire at a food preparation shop in Engomi”, fire department spokesperson Andreas Kettis said in a post on X.

According to the fire department, it appears that the fire was caused by an electrical issue, however the causes of the fire remain under investigation.
