Police in Limassol on Friday arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a violent robbery that took place earlier this year. The suspect was detained under a court-issued arrest warrant.

The case centres on an incident reported on April 2, when a group of individuals allegedly attacked a young man in the city, using clubs and other blunt objects. According to a police statement, officers were informed that several people had assaulted the 23-year-old victim in a local neighbourhood.

The victim told officers that the group had chased him down, beaten him, and stolen his mobile phone before fleeing the scene. He was taken to Limassol general hospital by ambulance, where doctors found he had suffered a serious head injury and broken bones in both arms. He remained in the hospital for further treatment.

Police have not yet confirmed how many suspects may have been involved or whether more arrests are expected. The motives behind the attack also remain unclear.

The Limassol criminal investigation department (CID) is continuing its inquiry. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
