A 56-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport after 16.6 kilograms of cannabis were found in his luggage, the police said on Tuesday.

The man was arrested after arriving at the airport aboard an international flight, with a search of his luggage turning up two nylon packages in which the cannabis was located.

He is expected to appear in court later on Tuesday, with the police’s investigation into the matter ongoing.
